Masking tape mt Makoto Matsubayashi

Makoto Matsubayashi, born in 1962 in Kōchi, Japan, is a printmaker and artist celebrated for his soft-lined, vividly colored depictions of plants, animals, and serene landscapes. He studied printmaking at Sōkei Art Academy and began his artistic career in Kōchi in 1991. In 1995, he won the Grand Prize in “The Choice” Annual Awards, a key recognition early in his career. Now he regularly holds exhibits in galleries and art museums around Japan, as well as in Taipei.
